Leland did show me where the harbor was, I'll give him that much. I really wish he hadn't though. The ship was there still collecting supplies, it was a fairly modern looking iron monster, with a huge paddle wheel in the rear and big tubes to release smoke and steam from the engines below. The harbor itself looked like it hadn't seen use in a long time, rusted over metal and rotting wood were its main features. There were no other ships in the harbor, and the only people moving were what appeared to be laborers. Which lead to my light bulb moment of sneaking on dressed up as a laborer (which of course lead to me having to hide my sword, I opted for some string and tying it to my back, as long as I didn't lean over too much you couldn't really tell I had it up there).
It wasn't very hard to do surpingly. Just throw some dirt on your face, grumble with the rest of the people moving stuff back and forth and look like you know what you're doing. The guards over seeing the labor didn't really want to be there (it was raining again) and to be perfectly honest few people would ever seek to sneak aboard a ship full of armed people! Only me and probably some other crazy person who spends his days wondering if toenails are edible (they are not, no don't asky why I know this just accept it and move on).
I was about to silently celebrate my cunning plans success when I saw all the other workers leaving the ship rapidly and heard the engines start up. Panic ran through me like a plate of bad food. I had intended on getting on the ship, finding Morley and getting off before it ever left the harbor, now it would seem I was stuck on board with the damn thing as it started its journey! It wouldn't be a Lorentino plan unless something went catastrophically wrong, and this was apparently no exception. With great dread I watched the shoreline dissappear and I slunk to the deck. I hate boats.
