"We're transferring weapons to Garret?" I was not mildly amused when I found out why we were going back to the place I just left. I was even less amused to find out we were shipping weapons to the guy who had tried to kill me and planned to wipe out moronic refugees who trusted him.
"Yes his family is very rich." Hanlon was his usual compassionate self.
"And?"
"And they paid in advance? What do you want? Some kind of admission I care about that he attempted to kill you? That what he's doing is wrong? Because I don't care about either of those things at all, and neither should you." His voice was that hard edge he used when he was upset with me. I tell you he'd been using it a lot more as of late.
"He tried to kill me!"
"And failed, and now you get to sell him something, its the circle of commerce." He turned around and went back down below and I figured that was the end of the conversation. I was still pissed off with this. A I wanted to go home, and B. I didn't want to help Garret anymore than I had already inadvertently done! I tell you Hanlon just didn't seem to care. Because he never seemed to value me as an employee or as a person I jumped ship! I realize this seemed silly for someone who wanted to go home, and who hated getting directly involved in conflicts, but I'm also someone who hates getting pushed around and I felt Hanlon was jerking me around.
So yeah I left his employ again and signed up to fight with the imperial forces Garrett was going to get butchered by. Which now looking back on also seems like an asshole move, man there are times I wonder how heroic I really am.
