"You die horribly." Brubaker was locked into a chair, Colonel Keith was administering a "serum" to help him see the truth, but Brubaker already knew the truth he had seen it shortly after meeting Keith. The future had turned, something had changed somewhere and now Brubaker wasn't doomed, Keith was. And it was hilarious to Brubaker who has just come to grips with his own mortality. Now he saw scenarios that were insane and yet the sight didn't lie or it hadn't in Brubakers experience.
"And you know this how?"
"I can see the future Keith, its my curse, earlier I was sobbing because I saw I was doomed, but now, now something hilarious and terrifying is about to happen." Keith paused for a moment looking Brubaker in the eye as if to try and understand whats going on.
"You know I have to hand it to your Brubaker, I've had a lot of people try and get out of this, I've never had someone fake being able to see the future."
"It's a shame you die Keith if only you lived long enough to know how stupid you were." Keith was about to respond when an explosion blew out the wall behind him trapping him underneath. The fire was so hot it burned the material which slowly coated Keith in construction material. His screams dying off when the material drained into his sinus cavities. Brubaker felt better up until he saw Trezlan Lorentino walk on top of Keith's corpse. Then he felt the worst he'd felt in a while. He knew this was going to happen, but he still refused to believe the sight was correct about this.
In a way being saved by the man he'd hunted for so long was almost worse than being turned into a killer by a mad man, almost worse.
