The Red War Part 4

"Friendly?" Trenk was up in the pilot area. I slinked into my seat hoping by just becoming more invisible on the ship I'd actually become invisible.

"Can't tell, they are masking our sensors which is not usually a move of the damned, but they do learn." Barnes was smashing buttons on his panel, I'm sure they were specific buttons, but it just looked like hitting things to me. Brooks was powering up the limited weaponry on our ship. I had been told all it could really do is blast space junk in case we needed to make a fast get away, but when people are faced with annihilation they do silly things.

"Communications?"

"I don't know if they see us yet, and I'd rather not open up comm..."

"Power down your weapons." The command boomed through the small ship it almost hurt my ears.

"Well shit." Barnes looked to Brooks who did as he was ordered.

"What are you idiots doing?"

"We can't fight those ships, but the damned don't usually issue orders, so this ain't them." Trenk looked at his security guards and slumped. He didn't want what was coming next, but no one would raise a finger to help him. The ships got closer and I could see they weren't Ronerawth either, nor were they corporate, they were some other as of yet unknown faction. The largest among them took a position over our ship and then shot a tow cable and brought us on board. I felt myself flexing my magical ability, getting ready to at least save myself in what would come next. There was a hissing as the docking bay around our ship depressurized and then a knock at the crafts exit door. I saw B&B had suited up in armor and weaponry not like it would do much but again people love their futility. When the door opened we were greeted by guns being pointed at us. It was a mix of men in women all wearing the dull red of the followers of Fire. I knew immediately that things had turned for the worse, but my companions did not seem to understand that at all.

"We're here for Lorentino, you can give him to us, or die where you stand." And that was a lovely introduction let me tell you.
