And Over Here Someone Rabidly Insane

Remember approaching strangers in the wilderness is dangerous, you don't know what they are there for and they could be the enemy. - Imperial Field Guard Manual

When I'm lost I'll go up to anyone, even obviously bad people to get help. I mean what do I have to lose other than my life, freedom, or money? Chronicles of Lorentino

Three weeks in Rolando was fully insane. Or it felt that way to him. Not talking to himself crazy, but fearing he'll never have a conversation with a real person or thing ever again crazy. His animal fort had gotten larger, and he's fashioned crude bone weaponry from the creatures he'd been killing, so he was at least comfortable in his madness. He'd taken to writing a journal on the hides of one of the creatures he'd killed. It wasn't legible, nor were his thoughts, but having the task to do kept him moderately occupied from the crushing madness. He was in the middle of one of these entries when he heard them.

At first the thought it was a new level to the madness. What sounded like some kind of local youth wilderness group wandering through his territory. As he listened though he knew they were real, there was a whole group of people there. And if people were there, that meant they had a way off planet, and Rolando needed that. Needed that more than he needed to finish his thoughts on the different tastes of tree. The first impression he made on the camping troop was not a good one. Seeing a bearded man in ripped bloodied clothing carrying various bone weaponry didn't inspire confidence he wasn't some crazy person.

"DON'T KILL THE CHILDREN!" There were four adults and twelve children, the uniform was not one Rolando knew, but he wasn't versed in normal kid activities. When he was a teenager he was running illicit arms with Trezlan, not out taking wilderness hikes.

"Why would I kill? Why would you think I would even do that?" Rolando's voice hurt at first for not using it, and then it took him a bit to find his words.

"Who are you sir?" Dave read the man's name tag, the other three adults were huddled with the children. Rolando almost said his real name, before he recalled Delorey and his cover.

"Vincent Delorey, you have to help me there was a training accident..."
