Stakem and Bakem

The problem with using capture as an information gathering technique is you have to deal with being captured.  Most people don't treat captives politely (nor do monsters, ghosts, just about anything that captures), in this case it meant I spent a few days tied to a stake near the beach in extreme heat (damn island climate).  I tried to observe my surrounding as best I could, but after a day of roasting my observation abilities boiled down to twisting my head in various directions and singing a crazy song I don't recall the lyrics to (but I always sing when I'm getting delerious, I got the flu once and a companion remarked that I sang the oddest tune).

What I did learn was the ghosts seem mostly lost during the day (I don't know where they went at night) unlike most ravenous ghosts though, they didn't seem crazy wondering around and menacing everything.  Just empty, completely devoid of where to go or what to do. They just wandered the island looking sullen, none even took the time to menace me despite my calls out to them or choice language.

So thats how I passed my time, stuck to a stake baking in the heat, starving to the point of being a raving lunatic.  I contemplated just burning the restraints rushing off to find food and a ship and leaving Toebeck to whatever madness had gripped it, unfortunately before I could implement this plan, my captor finally made their appearence.  And on that I will discuss with my next entry, got to drive suspense and all that, well that and I have an appointment that if I miss again the person threatened cutting of a part of my body that I want to keep.
