Thirteen traps. THIRTEEN! Why thirteen? I have no idea, I mean it should have been even, twelve or fourteen, but thirteen? Unacceptable. I do have to once again give credit to Trix, because she was able to disarm them all, even some of the weirder ones that somehow were based on blocking a light source. I'll also give credit to the ancient people here, they were inventive and spooky with their traps, even though there were no bodies proving the greatest trap of all was the damn door I had to open. We eventually came to a pedestal with a wooden box on it. The box seemed odd considering all the stone. It was a fairly large box, but nothing was inscribed in it. Just a plan red wooden box. I heard Trix suck in a breath when we got there, I was a bit confused because it seemed well fairly ordinary.
"There it is." She seemed a bit more breathless than a treasure hunter hired to get an object. I figured it was because of money. Both the twins and I weren't really that in awe of a red box on a stone pedestal.
"So do we open it or just take the box or..." I heard a click behind me, I hadn't noticed Trix move there, but I knew it was her.
"Or you and the twins take a seat in the corner while I grab this and get out of here."
"So much for half."
"Its not you, its me, I hate to share." The twins did as they were told and came toward me. I could tell she had her finger tapped on the trigger I so much as blinked at her and she'd shoot me and the twins.
"This isn't over."
"I'm sure its not for me, but for you, sad to say the adventure has come to a close. Don't leave this room until I fire a shot off at the entrance or I'll fire a shot right into your face." Trix made her way out, her rifle pointed at us and the box under her arm. I figured she wouldn't be able to get more than one shot off with a gun position like that, but again I'd rather live than die.
"What are we going to do now Trezlan?" Sara was asking in a voice that sounded a bit more afraid than I think it warranted.
"Wait for her to shoot a shot off and then leave, see kiddos this is the other part of an adventure, the getting screwed over by a sketchy partner part. I'd say you get used to it, but I never have." And never will! So the twins and I waited and waited, but the shot never came, and thats when we started to wonder if we could have heard it if she shot it, or if she ran across a trap. Still not wanting to get shot in the face we sat in silence for a couple hours. When we did emerge well things had not gone well for poor Trix... But thats tomorrow's entry!
