"It's a warfleet, coming from Ronerawth with all the colors." Rolando had found a way to a quiet place at the complex. He intended on calling his father, but Hanlon had arrived to make that unnecessary.
"All the colors? That term is not one I recall."
"Means they are bringing a full compliment of soldiers and ships."
"Ahh I'll have to update my vocabulary, this is what happens when you retreat to god hood and don't keep up appearences. Reminds me of the time that the Fire God..." Hanlon enjoyed that the younger Lorentino was welcoming to him. He would never admit it of course, but the Lorentino's were his only true friends in the universe, being a god while great, was fairly lonely.
"Please Hanlon I'm worried." The death god laughed, it was long and hard, Trezlan had always told Rolando when Hanlon laughed it unsettled him, and Rolando actually understood why now.
"Oh you lessers always so worried about annihilation when there are much worse things that can happen to you, much worse."
"That is not heartening."
"Most things are not heartening as you would call it, your father understands that the only way to survive is to be willing to let others die."
"I can't let my friends die."
"Then prepare to face annihilation, as I said its not the worst thing that can happen." Hanlon disappeared and Rolando was almost concerned that he was merely speaking to himself like he'd seen his father do from time to time. Still he had his answer, either help his friends and potentially die, or run away and most likely live. Seemed like a shitty decision on a shitty day in a shitty week.
