Necromancers, The Worst Kind of Pests

"At least fifty sir." Tolviar hadn't been on the planet long, but her efforts at extermination were efficient if not more than mildly alarming. The people serving the death fragment knew this day would come, it had warned them of Hanlon and what he would send, but they were still caught off guard, she was so blatant, not even trying to hide or negotiate, just straight to murder and death magic.

"Why at least?"

"A lot of necromancy was used, flesh melted with flesh hard to..."

"All right I get the picture." Why Hanlon sent necromancers was obvious, they were hard to kill and use of ritual magic was dangerous beyond words, but it didn't make the men seated at the table feeling any better. If they still had free will they probably would have run, but the ability to think for themselves had been taken a long time ago.

"What do you want us to do sir?"

"Unleash the creatures, it'll cause panic, but at this point the populace is already panic'd with a sociopath using magic and firearms to seemingly indescriminitely kill, what's some nightmarish monsters on top of that?" They all nodded and the man giving the report breathed a sigh of relief, at least his men would stop dying for the time being, unless the creatures started to butcher them as they had done in the past in limited escapes.

"And our god?"

"It knows, and it approves."
