Questionable Veracity

"I'm just saying I can't help, but wonder about the truthfulness of these red war entries sir." SIC had been in the room as Trezlan narrated his journal entries and had become increasingly incensed at the story the entries were telling with regards to what it itself knew of the Red War. SIC was not a combat AI at the time, but it could see the final moments of the battle that left its fleet in ruins and so it had a vague concept of the events and this story seemed absent those events.

"Are you doubting my veracity?"

"I'm merely suggesting this story seems to lack a fundamental truth based on what I know of the events sir."

"Are you calling me a liar?"

"No I just think you fudge things here sir, you admit it yourself in several of these entries."

"There is a difference between when I admit it and when you allege it SIC!" Both the AI and Trezlan came to a stale mate, neither wanting to admit the other was correct. So they started at each other for a bit. Trezlan did want to continue his story, but refused to admit he might have stretched the truth.

"I may not have all the facts about the Red War and your invovlement in its conclusion." SIC had done a calculation based on previous experience Trezlan did not back down when he was considered wronged.

"I may have fudged the truth about some aspects, though overall the story I'm telling is factually relevant."

"We can resume dictation sir."

"Excellent." There were many battles during Trezlan's journal entries in the advanced age, but he considered them worth it to never have to write with a pen ever again.
