Victory Morley, a man I wish I didn't know anymore. Sadly he's still alive even now, I blame myself as I've never really tried to kill him (its part fear, and part that hes the only other person who I know who can empathisize with being a necromancer, well I say empathisize for me its a neccessity to stay alive, for him its a thrill). When I first met him he was wearing simple brown robes, had long black hair and a thin unmarked face (he now has a scar that runs underneath his jaw down his throat, I didn't give it to him, but I do smile when I see it). I was waiting for him ever since Valrya gave me the heads up about his presence. I'd spent my time reading (Valrya had a lot of books, hand written, a collection that is absolutely priceless, and was the first thing I stole when I killed her), the book I was reading was a collection of tribal history of shorties (as best as one could ever do as most of the tribal shorties didn't talk to anyone, let alone have a shared history, but it was rather interesting so much so I didn't even notice Morley at first).
"And you are?" Snide, thats the only tone of voice Morley knows, I actually heard him in pain once, it was still snide!
"Trezlan Lorentino, Valrya's new child." I had my hand out, I kept my hand out, he never shook it.
"Oh that's right, and here I thought you might have been the worst burglar ever." He also tells awful jokes, not like me, my jokes are fantastic world renowned even.
"You must be Morley, Valrya said she'd be back in a bit." Magic users never ever give you a specific time for their return, its always vague terms. I know this, because I do this.
"Perfect, look Trezlan was it? I need you to do something for me, now before you complain, or say that Valrya wouldn't approve, know this, I can easily kill you and claim any number of reasons for it."
"Well when you put it like that."
"It's pretty simple, I just need you to go to a local city jail, and kill one guy, then come back here." Oh simple just GO TO JAIL AND KILL SOMEONE!
"Wait what?" I mean seriously even back then when I was all about doing really stupid things, this just seemed really dumb.
"You need to go to a jail in the city of Doriana, and kill someone."
"Yeah thats just you rephrasing what you just said."
"I figured you were just kinda dumb, I mean you don't look the smartest Trezlan."
"Thanks that yeah makes me feel great."
"Well I don't really care how you feel, just get your stuff, and go kill this guy for me, then we can be friends!" Morley's friendship, bought at the expense of someone else's life. He gave me a brief description (tall, old looking, named Diargo) and some directions to Doriana and off I went (without a damn horse of course). My foot still hurt, and it was a potentially long walk, but Morley's ultimatum was enough to get my ass moving. Things were not as they seemed naturally and it wasn't a simple "kill a guy in prison job", but as anyone could figure with my life, they never ever are.
