The Lost Object of Pointlessness

Thinking back on my first interactions with Morley it makes me realize he always does things like that to me.  "Oh here's a vague thing go do it, oh you failed to do the vague thing properly due to me being vague its all your fault." If he couldn't kill me easily I'd be a bit less annoyed with his demanding perfection with sub par instruction! With this in mind I trudged off back to the old farm house (a couple days had passed since I'd been there last so I hoped whatever I was looking for was still there, modest hopes, but when you're hurt hungry, and somewhat alone in this world its what you go with).

I avoided the town entirely this time because frankly I'd just mudered a local, and even if he was a thief I didn't want to have to answer those tough questions.  Which made walking on my bad foot all the worse (I almost thought I'd just lay low for a bit and let it heal, but then again the beating Morley delievered to me reminded me, no I don't want to dilly dally). By the time I arrived, it was late at night and I was really tired from walking. I trudged up to the house, it was thankfully empty still (well other than the rotting body of the formerly living person Diargo, thats more respectful, formerly living I've taken that tone since I've run across the reanimated formerly living a lot and they get angry when you aren't respectful). I searched around but came up with nothing (naturally I was hurt, it was dark, and frankly had no idea what I was looking for).  Feeling it could wait to the morning I took Diargo's bed roll and laid down for a nice quiet evening sleeping near a dead person (you know I do this so often you'd think I was married).

I wasn't asleep for what felt like a brief minute before I was rudely awoken by cannon fire. At first I mistook it for thunder (back then it was easier to do because I was an idiot sue me), but when I looked outside and saw it was sunny, I had to admit something had gone horribly wrong. I turned around to gather my stuff and get out of there and ran right into Morley.

"I think I hear cannons!" Yes I'm truely a master investigator.

"Yeah it's a war, the Ronerawth are retaliating after a noble prince was found murdered by Red Hand, I'd say it was odd they made it this deep in without resistance but honestly," He paused to smile a bit here, that full teeth grin will always haunt me, "I helped them get this far to begin with so I can't say I'm surprised." Yeah Morley ever the opportunist instructed the perfect place to strike back would be a farm town thus hurting Red Hand supplies, brilliant in execution terrible for me as a person.

"I see you're here which tells me you probably found what you were looking for, and knew where Diargo was to begin with."

"Correct and correct, but you did show initiative I have to appreciate that, oh Valrya sends her regards, she cautions to stay out of peoples ways and don't return to the cave its too dangerous right now."  Great kicked out of my home and stuck in the middle of a conflict, without a horse, I could see Morley's nearby, strangely it didn't seem bothered by the sound of the cannons (that animal happens to still be alive today, I don't honestly know if its not some demon subserviant to Morley or he practices necromancy to keep his horse alive, either one is not a pleasant thought.).

"What am I supposed to do Morley?" This question was puncutated by a nearby cannon shot thumping the ground.

"Try not to die Trezlan!" He hopped on his horse and left me there, in the middle of a warzone, hurt and alone.  What can I say starting out as a necromancer really really sucked.
