An Enemy For Life However Short

Rolando awoke chained up and surrounded by Morlatech machines. He didn't even consider them people though they at one time supposedly were. He was outraged at the outcome. For all of Trezlan's faults he'd never known his father to betray someone, he'd done everything else to people up to and including not telling them about awful things ahead, but never betrayal. It boiled his blood to see Valrym the man he always thought of as the father when his father was occupied had done this to him.

"Don't hate me this is Trezlan's fault." Valrym could feel the hate in the younger Lorentino's eyes.

"Right Trezlan turned me over to Morley."

"This is a means to an end, the end is ridding the galaxy of your father, he's a bad creature, not even a man."

"Says the godling who shouldn't even exist anymore." Valrym knew he'd lost Rolando at that point. It was like listening to a younger Trezlan.

"Whatever you think of me, know I'm doing the right thing."

"I'll remember that when I kill you." Valrym left Rolando with the machines, he knew this would be the most likely outcome of his betrayal, but it still hurt him that Rolando felt this way about him. He didn't want to do this, but he felt forced into it by there being no other option.

"As soon as Trezlan shows up, kill the godling and Trezlan." Morley didn't want there to be any doubt in his agents minds about what he wanted, so he spoke directly to them.

"Yes Morley, and if Trezlan doesn't show up?"

"Kill Valrym and bring me the boy, you have a day, after that we can assume Trezlan will not show and its best to cut our losses."

"Yes Morley." The machines always spoke as one whatever will they had originally gone from being his slaves for as long as they had been. It brought what was left of his ability to smile, to Morley's face.
