Kill Him? Why didn't anyone think of that?

Morley watched the news with what he would call a smile. The spiders had lost, their god abandoned them and with him went their power. Casualties were high, but the galaxy would pull through for now. It was enough for him to be right, it was better than in the spider god's failing he had indirectly benefited Morley. Now he alone could tap into the former death god's powers and had been enjoying the surge since.

"Feeling good about yourself?" Hanlon, Morley felt revulsion in just seeing him.

"I will in time." Morley wanted to do something to him, but didn't want to show his power to Hanlon even with how much he hated him.

"Well I'm glad you got it out of your system, now you can die slowly in peace without harming the rest of us."

"I'm not dying, you'll be the one dying soon enough." The metallic hollow whisper he said it in made Hanlon want to laugh, but he didn't have to taunt Morley much. He just wanted him to know he was aware of his usual treachery.

"Good talk."

"Before you go Hanlon, know that I will kill Trezlan, I have things in place to do it this time, and you can't save him like all the other times before. And when he dies I'll come for you next, and then I'll run this galaxy."

"It's good to have goals Morley." Hanlon left and Morley sat the smile having faded from his metallic lips. He was patient, but Hanlon wasn't wrong, his life was running out, all the necromancy and machines couldn't fix what was wrong with him. And so he pushed a button his console and initiated his plan. And then he waited, because now was time to be done with Trezlan, done and buried.
