As interesting as it would be to die alone underground for a few days (alone you say? Yeah I'd kill Luke to stay alive I thought that was a given) I knew I had to find a way out. Clearly the way in was a bust, but that didn't mean we were trapped. I mean we were trapped, but we didn't have to stay that way. My hope was the most obvious one. The spiders had not found the proper entrance to the chamber we were in, which meant there had to be a proper entrance in, I just had to find it (you'd think with the sight I had that would be easy, but alas when you're in a panic everything looks like panic).
It's like when you're looking for your keys, you get so dialed into finding your keys you miss that they've been in your pocket the whole time. I was so wrapped up in finding the exit I didn't notice it was underneath us the entire time (also I didn't think to go down to get out, because geometrically that makes zero sense, as if I know anything about geometrics). So despite having air and in theory food (again sorry Luke you're just a meal if I need it). I just read a bunch of stuff in my increasingly panic'd mind and then finally looked down and noticed we were standing in an elevator chamber as such. I was basically panicking in the lobby of whatever the underground complex was. I actually hit the down button by accident. One moment I was reading about going down, and then the next we were actually descending. It caught Luke by surprise as well.
"It feels like we're going down."
"Because we are."
"So you found a way out?"
"Well a way out or a way to our damnation, remember this race was wiped out by corruption, this could be a like a holding facility for that corruption, so we might be descending into a worse place." Luke looked at me with a slight bit of anger.
"You just have to ruin everything."
"My son says the same thing."
